Finding Us--Introducing the Midcoast

Welcome to Rockland, Maine - the Lobster Capitol of the World

Rockland, Maine is home not only to the Stephen Taber but also to hard working lobster boats, offshore fishing vessels, sleek pleasure yachts, and several other windjammers. The Taber is berthed just a short walk from the shops in Main Street's handsome nineteenth-century brick buildings. Just up the road is the storybook village of Camden, and the inland hills offer spectacular hiking. Throughout the region, exceptional accommodations range from cozy B&Bs and elegant inns to modern motels and full-service seaside resorts. Click here to find out about special events and festivals in Rockland.

Before or after your windjammer cruise, you will want to explore the area. The Farnsworth Museum, home of the Wyeth Family Maine Collection, plus the Transportation Museum are a must. Day trips to the islands of Monhegan, North Haven, or Vinalhaven are recommended. Camden and Rockland are noted for their local specialty stores.
