Maine Cruises, Windjammer Cruises Schooner Stephen Taber, Built 1871

Welcome Aboard!

Each week from Memorial Day through the legendary Maine fall foliage season, we set sail from Rockland Harbor for six days of sailing the most beautiful and acclaimed cruising grounds on Earth. Your Maine windjammer vacation will be spent exploring spruce-fringed islands, gunkholing amongst secluded coves, visiting remote fishing villages, and reaching across the bays that lap the Maine coast. Come on a Maine windjammer sailing adventure of a lifetime aboard the Stephen Taber, America's Good Luck Ship!

With 140 years under her keel and going strong, this Historic Maine Windjammer is a shining symbol of America's proud sailing heritage. Take your place in the Taber's family and let us show you the thrill, the warm comradeship, and the dramatic beauty of our nation's finest windjammer cruising grounds.

Our Floating Feast
"When you open the dictionary and look up 'perfect vacation experience,' there should be a picture of the Stephen Taber. This trip exceeded all expectations. The sail into Pulpit Harbor at low tide was an exquisite piece of sailing and the rush of sailing at top speed was just out of this world. Captain Noah Barnes and Jane Barnes

From the Captain
The 2013 season marks the Taber's 142nd season! Captain Noah has sailed this schooner for over three decades and immensely enjoys maintaining and sailing this magnificent National Historic Landmark. We couldn't imagine doing anything more gratifying than taking old and new friends windjamming and showing the incredible, natural beauty of Maine's Penobscot Bay. Each trip is like a week long dinner party at sea: great sailing, food, friends and laughter.

Maine Windjammer Stephen Taber NewsWe have an abiding love for the beauty and history of the Maine Coast and hope you will come sailing with us.
